“I have been working with Katie on and off since 2019, and most recently have spent the last year training and racing consistently with Katie as my coach!
I feel super supported by Katie, with frequent checks ins via Final Surge and phone calls. I always feel valued as an athlete through her intentional messages and training plan tweaks, and through the time that she takes to talk through the training block, race preparation or race recapping. I appreciate the accountability and discipline that is built through a coach/athlete relationship, and I trust that Katie sees the "big picture" of my training. That takes a huge "mental load" off my plate!
This past year has been my return to running after having my son in 2022, and Katie has been so encouraging- she is very considerate and respectful of the time constraints I have with working and having a family, and is very open to modifications that need to be made to the plan. She has shared so much knowledge regarding the mental side of training and racing, helping me to create mantras and cues to be mentally and physically strong during workouts and races. I have improved so much under Katie's coaching, running my fastest mile and 5k since college and setting an almost 10 minute PR in the half marathon!”

“In the matter of just a few months of working with Sterling Running, Katie helped reshape what I viewed as possible in my pursuit of running.
Katie's constant feedback and willingness to adapt a training plan through all the ups and downs of marathon training and one's personal life give you a custom experience that you would not find in a fixed plan online.
After dealing with a string of bad luck and injuries, Katie helped develop a plan to slowly build back my strength and led me to run my first marathon in 9 years, with my first sub-3 hour marathon and a Boston Qualifier on top of it.
I am very excited to continue to work with Katie and I could not recommend Sterling Running more to anyone who wants to continue to grow as a runner.”

“Coach Katie is highly effective and exudes credibility. Her knowledge of running is rooted in experience and best practices. Katie knows that basics get the job done over time so there’s nothing gimmicky or complex. There is always a good mix of familiarity and new workouts. I’ve been working with Katie for nearly 4 years and have only repeated a handful of key workouts. I am never bored! Katie is also a highly driven elite athlete herself. Personally, witnessing her running journey has been hugely rewarding and inspiring. Katie has had highs and lows in the sport. She’s great to connect with because she has been there herself. Also, she’s a total rockstar. I am in awe of her accomplishments!
Coach Katie takes care of the details. I don’t have to make any decisions when it comes to planning my workouts. Katie has it ready to go for me. This is, perhaps, the greatest investment because it saves me mental fatigue from trying to figure out what to do next. Also, Katie uses data to figure out appropriate paces. I feel challenged, but things are manageable.
Coach Katie is loyal and encouraging. I know Katie has SO many athletes that she coaches but she does a great job of making her athletes feel seen and validated. I feel like I am more than just an anonymous athlete with Katie. She knows me, my background, my strengths, my stressors, my family environment, etc. It never ceases to amaze me how Katie always has the perfect nugget of wisdom to share when doubts creep in or disappointments arise. She’s very in tune with the social-emotional needs of those that she coaches. She gets her athletes to believe in themselves and to enjoy the process.”
